Hull FC College student Reece Hudson got the news he was hoping for this morning as he graduated with an NCFE Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity.
On what proved to be a wholly successful day for the Hull FC College, 97% of all students across the college’s various courses achieved their target grade or above, including our NCFE Level 2 & 3 courses in Sport & Physical Activity, and our Level 4 & 5 Sport & Exercise Science courses.
And after a successful time within the Hull FC Centre of Excellence programme, 96% of learners already have their immediate future secured, progressing into either further or higher education, or into employment.
One of a number of students to move onto university next month is Reece Hudson, who will attend the University of Hull to study a degree in Sport & Exercise Science with Coaching.
Like Reece, several other students at the Hull FC College explore other avenues than simply playing rugby, be it sports coaching, physiotherapy or teaching, with a number of other graduates heading to university in the next few weeks to continue their journey into professional employment.
“I’m really looking forward to going to university in my home town in September,” Reece said.
“Over the summer, I’ll be getting as much work experience as I can to try and develop my knowledge further before I begin the next stage of my studies.
“I loved my two years at the Hull FC College and there wasn’t a dull day, to be honest.
“I had lots of fun and a lot of laughs, and I was able to get my work done at the same time. The staff were absolutely quality in helping me out along the way, too.”
Reece isn’t resting on his laurels, though, committing his free time during the summer to help the Hull FC Community Foundation deliver summer rugby camps to local youngsters.
The experience will play a key role in helping Reece hone his skills before he begins his Secondary School Teaching degree at the University of Hull in September.
