Community Foundation To Support HEY Mind’s Mental Elf Run

The Hull FC Community Foundation has teamed up with Hull & East Yorkshire Mind to support their first-ever ‘Mental Elf Run’ this winter!

The event, which has been organised by local mental health charity HEY Mind and the Hull FC Community Foundation, will be held on Sunday 4th December at East Park, Holderness Road.

The ‘Mental Elf’ run will encourage people to get into the festive spirit by dressing up as elves and getting their running shoes on for a 5K to build spirits and raise funds for HEY Mind.

Open for people of all ages and abilities; runners, walkers, families, teams, wheelchairs and pushchairs, the run is set to be a fantastic, fun-filled festive event – a great way of raising money for a fantastic cause.

Marie-Louise Robinson, community fundraiser (and chief elf) at HEY Mind said: “It is going to be a wonderful way of people getting together with family and friends to boost mental wellbeing

“Getting dressed up in elf costumes is the perfect way of getting into the Christmas spirit, all whilst raising money for local people who struggle with their mental health most at this time of year.”

“Elf costumes are preferred but not essential, although we hope to see lots of you dressed up!”

Maisie Malton, Head of Health & Wellbeing at the Hull FC Community Foundation added: “We’re super excited to have teamed up with HEY Mind on this project, especially as it’s supporting such an important cause.

“It definitely promises to be a great fun with lots of laughs in December, and I’m looking forward to seeing who has the best elf outfit!”
