The Hull FC Community Foundation are continuing their commitment to supporting young people with a disability, learning difficulties or a long-term health condition through the ‘This Ability’ project.
After a successful year in 2022, when a number of learners were rewarded for their application and effort with employment at local businesses, the Hull FC Community Foundation are once again recruiting new learners to grow their skills.
This Ability courses are made up of three key stages to help learners develop their skills and work their way into employment:

Learners will build up evidence of progress on the six Core Capabilities.
In order to progress though the Ready, Willing & Able stage of This Ability, a participant will need to complete and evidence six capabilities in their employability passport.

STAGE TWO: World Of Work
Hull FC offer a programme of sector specific training that includes the seven CBI employability skills to ensure the participant completes the second stage of the Employability Passport.
- Time management
- Business and customer awareness
- Problem solving
- Communication and literacy
- Application of number
- Application of ICT
Our sector-specific training includes opportunities to gain experience in.
- Customer Service
- Coaching in schools
STAGE THREE: Good To Go
Learners will have the opportunity for tailored job search, one-to-one sessions, mock interviews and practicing use of the passport if not in employment when they leave stage two.
A young person will have achieved a completed This-Ability employability passport at the end of the World of Work stage and will be considered Good to Go.
