The Hull FC Community Foundation is delighted to announce that it is adding more FREE junior camps throughout the Easter half-term holidays!
Last week, it was announced that the Community Foundation is set to deliver a number of junior camps in Hull thanks to funding from the Hull City Council through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
Now, further funding from the East Riding Council has enabled the Community Foundation to schedule more rugby and multi-sport activity camps in the surrounding Hull areas.
These areas include Cottingham, Keyingham, and, for the first time, Hornsea.
Previously, these camps have engaged with thousands of school children in the local area. There are now forecasted to be another huge amount of youngsters set to benefit from the Community Foundation’s engaging activities during the two-week holiday break.
The camps, which are available to those children across the region who receive free school meals, are also part of the Black and Whites’ ongoing commitment to helping grow rugby league and develop players for the future, running alongside a host of projects and programmes to engage with, educate and inspire local juniors.
These camps are an exciting opportunity to learn and develop skills like meeting new friends, alongside a nutritious meal each day, while taking part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment.
Most significantly, the camps are free for young children to attend, meaning sessions are accessible for all young children across the city, with various sessions for various age groups.
Children who are in receipt of free school meals will also be eligible for a free meal when taking part in the various sessions, as we encourage young people to eat healthily over the holidays, while also developing an understanding of nutrition and food budgeting for families.
