Community Foundation Branching Out To East Riding With Camps

The Hull FC Community Foundation will reach out beyond the boundaries of the city with its summer camps this July and August.

In addition to a whole host of sessions planned in Hull this summer, the Community Foundation will also run sessions across the East Riding in a bid to engage with even more local children than before.

With multi-skills activities in Beverley, Bridlington, Goole, Hornsea and Market Weighton, the Community Foundation is set to provide more than just rugby camps this summer.

The Community Foundation have once again received funding for the camps from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme – a scheme funded by the Government and delivered by local councils across the summer, providing healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free meals available for those on free school meals.

The Hull FC Community Foundation has been identified as a key strategic partner and will work with the councils and other partners across the summer holidays to provide programmes of coordinated activities to support families and enable children to have fun and stay active while away from the classroom.

The camps, which are available to those children across the region who receive benefit-related free school meals, are also part of the Black and Whites’ ongoing commitment to helping grow rugby league and develop players for the future, running alongside a host of projects and programmes to engage with, educate and inspire local juniors.

The camps are an exciting opportunity to learn and develop skills like meeting new friends, alongside a nutritious meal each day, while taking part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment.

Please note, parents will be required to confirm that their child is in receipt of free school meals when booking.
