The Hull FC Community Foundation will provide five weeks of free summer rugby league camps for local Year 7 to Year 11 girls throughout the school holidays.
Camps are strongly supported by funding from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme – a scheme funded by the Government and delivered by local councils across the summer, providing healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free meals available for those on free school meals.
With Hull FC running Under 16s, Under 14s and Under 12s Girls teams, this summer’s Girls Rugby League camps will look to offer inspiration for local girls wanting to take up the sport.
Getting underway on Wednesday 2nd August, the Girls Rugby League camps will take place every Wednesday until 30th August at the Hull FC Elite Performance Centre on County Road.
The camps are an exciting opportunity to learn and develop skills like meeting new friends, alongside a nutritious meal each day, while taking part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment
Most significantly, the camps are free for children who are in the respect of benefit-related free school meals to attend.
Children who are in receipt of free school meals will also be eligible for a free meal when taking part in the various sessions, as we encourage young people to eat healthily over the holidays, while also developing an understanding of nutrition and food budgeting for families.
Please note, parents will be required to confirm that their child is in receipt of free school meals when booking.
