In partnership with the Hull KR Community Foundation, Age UK Hull and Pickering & Ferens Homes, the Hull FC Community Foundation will stage a ‘Summer Olympics’ event this August as part of the Our Best Years project.
Our Best Years, which was established in late 2021, is a project that engages with older people in a bid to tackle social isolation through its routinely regular sessions and activities every week.
The Summer Olympics takes centre stage at the Allam Sports Centre on campus at the University of Hull on Friday 4th August (12-4pm).
Participants will be arranged into teams and activities will include bowling, seated dancing and bingo.
To keep everybody going throughout the day, a free buffet will be provided, as well as free teas and coffees.
Participation fees are £3 per person, and tickets can be booked by emailing maisie.malton@hullfc.com.
Speaking to hullfcfoundation.co.uk, Community Foundation Head of Health & Wellbeing Maisie Malton said: “We’re really happy to be running the Summer Olympics event on the back of the success of the Winter Olympics event earlier in the year.
“As our commitment is still on bringing people together, it’s always incredibly rewarding to see people enjoying themselves at our projects, which is why we are so excited to be running the Summer Olympics.
“I’m looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces later on this week!”
