Volunteer for Hull FC through the Community Foundation, with a new Level 2 programme getting underway.
The volunteering programme has helped a number of people begin their journey into employment.
We recently caught up with Josh and Matthew, who are two of eight recently qualified sports coaches as a result of attending the Community Foundation’s volunteering courses.
Josh told hullfcfoundation.co.uk: “This allows me to help people achieve their goals and enhance their personal development to become who they want to be as a player. I can’t thank the foundation enough for their support.”
Volunteering is a great way to not only learn the ropes and gain valuable experience, but also to get a behind-the-scenes look at life at Hull FC.
Volunteers will be able to improve their confidence and self-esteem, whilst learning valuable employability skills.
The programme is for people aged 16 and over, targeted at individuals in Hull who are economically inactive or unemployed. Participants must be eligible to receive UK public funds.
In partnership with the UKSPF, Hull FC will also provide key interview support and qualifications through the Community Foundation, which could turn volunteering into employment further down the line.
There are a whole hosts of benefits that come from taking part in the programme, including personal development, social activities, employability skills, volunteering, work experience, ICT, literacy and numeracy support, occupational specific qualifications or units, and job search.
Furthermore, the club will provide support to volunteers with producing a comprehensive CV, giving them the best possible chance of standing out to an employer, with most beneficiaries usually completing the course or progressing within 4 to 6 months.
There are a range of volunteering opportunities within the club at the moment. Check them out here:
