Hull FC Community Foundation is delighted to announce that it has successfully gathered an award for a Healthy Holidays Strategic Contract, securing the delivery of Healthy Activities programmes across Easter, Summer, and Winter periods from 2026 through to 2029.
This significant achievement reinforces the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting children and young people across Hull, particularly those eligible for free school meals, by providing accessible, engaging, and enriching opportunities during school holiday periods.
As part of the new contract, Hull FC Community Foundation will deliver over 800 hours of activity-based holiday camps throughout the year, spanning the Easter half term, summer holidays, and Christmas break. These sessions will be tailored to ensure children not only stay active but also benefit from structured learning experiences, social interaction, and personal development.
The Foundation has already established a strong track record through its involvement in Healthy Holidays Hull, successfully delivering impactful programmes that combine physical activity, education, and wellbeing. Building on this experience, the organisation is excited to expand and enhance its provision over the next three years.
The camps will continue to focus on creating inclusive and welcoming environments, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate, develop new skills, and build confidence during school holidays. Alongside the activities, all children attending will receive a packed lunch and drinks each day, supporting both physical wellbeing and accessibility.
Sam French, Head of Hull FC Community Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm following the announcement:
“We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the Healthy Holidays Strategic Contract and to continue supporting children and families across Hull. Over the past few years, we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact these programmes can have, not only in keeping young people active but also in boosting confidence, learning, and social connections.
This contract allows us to build on that success and deliver even more provision over the next three years, ensuring that children who need it most have access to safe, engaging, and enjoyable opportunities throughout the school holidays.”
Amelia Holdstock from the Healthy Holidays Hull team spoke on the announcement,
“We would like to congratulate Hull FC Community Foundation on securing this contract and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will deliver for children, young people and families.
As a valued delivery partner within the Healthy Holidays programme for a number of years, Hull FC Community Foundation has consistently demonstrated its commitment to providing high-quality opportunities that engage children and young people, helping to remove barriers to participation, increase physical activity, and support their health and wellbeing during the school holidays.
We are delighted to continue working alongside the Foundation over the coming years and look forward to building on our successful partnership to ensure children and young people have access to safe, enriching and active holiday experiences”
Further details will be announced in the coming month, ahead of the next period.
