Active in Age

Active in Age

‘Active in Age’ is a new program designed to support older people living with dementia and their carers, helping them lead healthier, happier lives within their community. Created in partnership with Age UK Hull, Pickering and Ferens Homes, and Alzheimer’s Society, this initiative offers a range of weekly activities that focus on physical health, social engagement, and emotional well-being.

Our Activities:

  • Physical Activity: Weekly sessions at MKM Stadium Community Hub, featuring movement to music, mindfulness walks, and chair-based exercises.
  • Social Groups: Creative activities, including art and sports reminiscence, at Edinburgh Street Community Centre.
  • Carer Support: A weekly support group combining physical activity with mental resilience and social opportunities for carers.

‘Active in Age’ is co-designed with individuals living with dementia to ensure activities are inclusive and meaningful. We also invite local services to join the sessions, providing better access to advice and support.
