Set Restart is a community-led initiative designed to empower young families living on the Orchard Park estate in Hull. At its core, the project exists to build skills, confidence, and knowledge, helping people of all ages take positive steps toward living healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.
Working at the heart of the HU6 community, Set Restart delivers a wide range of inclusive, engaging opportunities that respond to the real needs of local residents. From early years to adulthood, the project supports individuals and families at every stage of their journey.
For younger participants, Rugby Minis sessions introduce children to physical activity in a fun, supportive environment, helping to develop teamwork, resilience, and social skills. As young people grow, tailored youth activities provide safe spaces to stay active, build friendships, and gain confidence.
Set Restart also places strong emphasis on supporting adults, particularly through dads-based sessions that encourage connection, wellbeing, and positive role modelling within families. Alongside this, the project delivers structured physical activity programmes designed to improve both physical and mental health.
Beyond sport and wellbeing, Set Restart supports individuals into brighter futures through work and job readiness opportunities. These sessions help participants develop essential employability skills, build confidence, and explore pathways into education, training, and employment.
By bringing together sport, wellbeing, personal development, and community engagement, Set Restart creates a holistic support network for the Orchard Park area. Everything is centred around HU6, ensuring services are accessible, relevant, and rooted in the community.
