The Hull FC Foundation is celebrating a moment of immense pride as its Armed Forces Programme has been nominated for Veterans Group of the Year at the UK Veterans Awards 2026. This recognition highlights the strength of the Armed Forces community built through the dedication of volunteers, staff, and participants who shape the programme each week. Their collective commitment has created a supportive, inclusive environment that continues to make a meaningful difference to current and former serving personnel across Hull and East Yorkshire.

 

In addition to the group nomination, Sarah Robinson, the Foundation’s Armed Forces Community Lead, has been shortlisted for Role Model of the Year. Sarah’s work has been instrumental in expanding programme access, strengthening community connections, and ensuring that serving and ex‑serving personnel feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Her nomination reflects years of dedication to improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and championing inclusivity across all Armed Forces activities.

 

Sarah’s efforts are complemented by the ongoing work of Foundation staff members Tracey Smith and Beth Foster, whose contributions help deliver high‑quality sessions and support throughout the week. Alongside them, a committed team of volunteers plays a vital role in maintaining the programme’s momentum and ensuring its continued success.

 

Both the Armed Forces group and Sarah Robinson will attend the awards evening at De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel on 1st October 2026, marking a proud milestone for the Foundation and everyone involved in its Armed Forces community.
