The Hull FC Community Foundation has teamed up with Hull & East Yorkshire Mind to support their first ever ‘Mental Elf’ run, which takes place this Sunday!
The event is the first of its kind in the city, and it has been organised by a fusion of the Community Foundation and HEY Mind to raise people’s spirits ahead of the festive period, whilst also raising funds for the local charity.
Located at East Park, off Holderness Road, the ‘Mental Elf’ run takes place this Sunday, with registration at 10.30am, warm-ups from 11am and the run getting underway at 11.30. The run is expected to finish at 1pm.
Hull FC first-team players Jamie Shaul and Connor Wynne will be amongst the crowd cheering on all of the runners.
Marie-Louise Robinson, community fundraiser (and chief elf) at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind said: “Mental Elf will be a fantastic festive fun event, open for people of all ages and abilities; runners, walkers, families, teams, wheelchairs, and pushchairs.
“It’s a wonderful way to get together with family and friends and improve your feelings of wellbeing.”
“Elf costumes are preferred but not essential, although we hope to see lots of you dressed up. It’s the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit, all whilst raising money for local people who are struggling with their mental health.”
Tickets are on sale now here! All tickets purchased before this week will benefit from a 10% discount, as follows:
£16.20 for adults; £12.60 for children aged 5 -16; children under 5 free; £45 for family ticket – for families with up to three children; and £94.50 for team of up to eight people – great for groups of friends or colleagues.
Tickets include; a free goody bag for the first 100 sign-ups, a free warm-up session with a personal trainer from Hull FC Community Foundation and a bespoke medal for every elf!
Every ticket sale and donation will generate vital funds to enable HEY Mind to support local adults and young people with their mental health.
Maisie Malton, Head of Health and Wellbeing at Hull FC Community Foundation said: “This will be a fantastic experience for everybody involved, with a real wellbeing boost!
“Our volunteer elves from the Community Foundation will be out along the route to cheer everyone on.
“But most importantly, by taking part or just coming along to cheer people on, you’ll get a real feeling of satisfaction from supporting your local mental health charity.”
