Big Week Of Free Unite Girls Activities Scheduled

Next week is the final week of the summer holidays, and Hull FC’s Community Foundation will be running several more free-to-attend ‘Unite Girls’ sessions before the kids head back to school, with lots of fun activities lined up.

Tailored for girls aged 11-16, Unite Girls gives young girls the opportunity to explore themselves and discover which sports and physical activites they like the most, whilst enjoying plenty of fun social activities along the way.

Activities include baking, footgolf, arts & crafts, and a trip to Big Fun. The Unite Girls summer programme will culminate in a Summer Festival at the Elite Performance Centre on County Road on Friday 1st September, where there will be bouncy castles, face painters, temporary tattoos, games and arts & crafts. Food and drink will also be provided.

Designed to inspire, educate, and motivate young girls, the Community Foundation provides a safe environment, whilst fostering new relationships between participants through the Unite Girls programme, which will be running as an after-school club at local secondary schools during the 2023/24 academic year.

The Unite Girls summer camps are being run thanks to funding from the Hull City Council through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme – a scheme funded by the Government and delivered by local councils across the summer, providing healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free meals available for those on free school meals.

By offering free camps once again this summer, the Community Foundation is actively supporting its commitment to helping families still feeling the impact of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
