A former Hull FC Sports College student is closing in on graduating from the University of Hull as he continues his pursuit of a career in sports coaching.
It’s a busy schedule for Reece Hudson these days. Not only is he finalising his studies at the University of Hull, but he is part of the Hull FC Community Foundation’s group of passionate sports coaches, and he is also the Head Coach of the club’s Physical Disability Rugby League side.
Graduating from the Hull FC Sports College in 2021 enabled Reece to join the Community Foundation, where he works in an industry he loves.
Part of the Sports College’s 97% strike rate of students graduating with their target grade or above, Reece then went on to study Sports Science & Coaching at the University of Hull to further develop his skillset.
Courses at the Sports College include NCFE Level 2 & 3 courses in Sport & Physical Activity, which prepare students in the best possible way for their onward journeys into the sporting industry.
Speaking about his time at the Sports College, Reece said: “It was great. It helped me put the skills I needed to help me take up a coaching role with the Community Foundation.
“It’s also taught me a lot about leading a group of people, which has helped me in the role of Head Coach of the PDRL team.
“I can’t really credit the tutors and staff at the Sports College enough because they tailored the lessons to suit the interests of the learners and offered so much support to help me succeed.”
Working with high profile education providers, SCL, who also partner the likes of West Ham, Leeds United and Yorkshire County Cricket, Hull FC’s education delivery is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
